TORONTO, Sept. 22, 2023 – Canada's largest tabletop RPG actual play network, Dumb-Dumbs & Dice (DD&D), has announced a new Halloween-themed role-playing mini-series, HACK N SLASH, premiering October 6th, 2023, at 9:00 PM EST on their Twitch channel.
HACK N SLASH is a four-part improvised comedic mini-series starring an international cast of actors and comedians. The "Monster of the Week" adventure features four monsters who find out they are being replaced by upgraded versions of themselves and must fight to stay alive.
"We're thrilled for HACK N SLASH to be the first TTRPG adventure recorded in our new production studio," said Lead Producer and Company Founder Ryan LaPlante. "If you love horror movies, monsters and the Halloween season, this series is full of deep-cut references while still being accessible for people here for the jokes."
Episodes of HACK N SLASH will initially stream on the company's Twitch channel, with video-on-demand and podcast episodes launching on YouTube and Spotify the following week. Members of the cast will join the stream for the premiere episode.
"Our all-LGBTQ+ cast includes lifelong horror fans as well as a performer who listed Ernest Scared Stupid as their favourite horror film - so there's something here for everyone," said LaPlante.
While the development of new shows has been teased to fans in the past several months, HACK N SLASH is the first announced of three series planned for release in 2023, bringing their current show catalogue to thirteen.
